04

Leather Debossing.

Debossing is a technique where the calligraphy is pressed into the surface of a material. This service can only be done on genuine leathers as faux or PU leathers can melt!

Heat foiling takes a machine that generates heat through a metal nib with special heat-activated foil sheets to leave a permanent transfer of the foil to a surface. With the use of different nib tips, I can calligraph a name, word, saying and more onto leather and faux leather surfaces, leaving beautiful and shiny lettering.

02

Leather debossing is using a special pyrography tool and metal nibs to pressing calligraphy lettering or designs into the surface of a material. In this case, genuine leather and some suedes. This creates a sunken, depressed look on a leather surface.

03

The most common surface for heat foiling is leather. Think journals, passport holders, wallets, luggage tags, keychains, etc., Heat foiling can also be done on genuine, faux, or PU leathers. Some plastics take heat foiling well, too!

04

For debossing, you should only use genuine leathers. If a product is made of PU Leather or faux leathers, it is best to use heat foiling. This is due to the high content of plastics in PU and faux leathers. Combining them with heat causes the material to melt!

05

Sometimes and outlet is needed for events, yes. For heat foiling, I do have a couple machines that do not require the use of an outlet. However, if you are wanting your items to be debossed, then I will need an outlet. This is because I need a machine that allows me to control the temperature as it requires more heat than foiling does.
